Sherman Police

Driving while intoxicated — Officers conducted a traffic stop April 12 in the 3800 block of West Houston Street. The male driver was swerving heavily and admitted to drinking alcohol. He showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Forgery — An officer was dispatched April 12 to a store in the 200 block of Sunset Street. The reporting party stated a cashier had accepted $240 in counterfeit bills. The counterfeit bills were seized as evidence. A report was generated for forgery government/national instrument/money/security. The investigation is ongoing.

Criminal mischief — A male complainant made telephone contact April 12 with the public safety administrator. The complainant stated an unknown suspect(s) slashed a tire on his vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot of a residence in the 1200 block of West Taylor Street. A report was generated for criminal mischief from $100-$750.

Possession — Officers stopped a vehicle April 11 for speeding in the 800 block of South Gribble Street. The driver of the vehicle was in possession of marijuana and concentrated cannabis. A report for possession of marijuana under two ounces and possession of a controlled substance was filed at large.

Criminal trespass — Denison Police officers requested Sherman Police assistance April 12 in the 2600 block of Cornerstone Drive. A female was on private property causing a disturbance and would not leave. Sherman officers arrived on scene and told the female she was criminally trespassing. She still refused to leave and was arrested. A report for criminal trespass was generated.

Denison Police

Driving while intoxicated — An officer responded April 12 to the report of a man sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 400 block of North Barrett. The male suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated, second offense.

Assault — A female complainant stated April 12 she was assaulted by a family member over a cellphone while at a birthday party in the 2600 block of Easy Street. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.

Public intoxication — An officer stopped April 13 to assist a motorist who was stopped partially in the roadway in the 3400 block of FM 120 West. A male was arrested for public intoxication.

Disturbance — A female complainant reported April 13 that a disturbance with a former boyfriend turned physical in the 400 block of Mundt Drive. The suspect took the complainant’s vehicle and left. He also took a phone out of another person’s hand who was calling emergency personnel and also took the complainant’s cellphone and left.

Theft — Store personnel stated April 14 a male took a carton of cigarettes from the store without paying for it. Officers are following up on leads.

Traffic stop — An officer stopped a vehicle April 15 for a traffic violation at FM 84 and U.S. Highway 75. The male driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and for an outstanding city of Denison warrant.

Theft — A complainant reported April 15 that two males entered a local store in the 3500 block of FM 120 West and took a pair of Apple airpods without paying for them. Officers are following up on leads.
