Denison Police


Theft — A complainant stated April 5 an unknown suspect stole a utility trailer with a zero-turn lawn mower on it along with four chairs and a medical table from outside a local business in the 1500 block of South Armstrong. The trailer was later recovered in the 5300 block of Theresa Drive, but nothing else was located. The investigation is ongoing.


Burglary of a building — A complainant stated April 4 someone stole three construction lights from inside a building under construction in the 5000 block of Convention Way. The lights were later recovered by the McKinney Police Department. The investigation will continue.


Criminal mischief — A complainant stated April 4 someone damaged an exterior air conditioning unit and propane tank behind a convenience store in the 4400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. Officers are following up on leads.


Aggravated assault with deadly weapon — Two males were involved March 4 in a verbal confrontation with another male suspect in the 1400 block of South Austin. The suspect assaulted one of the males by punching him. Then the suspect removed a handgun from a vehicle and pointed it at the two males. One of the victims ran out into the street and flagged down a state trooper, who detained the suspect until officers arrived. The handgun was ultimately found to be a BB gun. The suspect was arrested for outstanding city of Denison warrants and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.


Public intoxication — Officers responded April 5 to the report of a woman screaming and yelling in the 200 block of West Hull. The subject was located and arrested for public intoxication.


Theft — A male complainant reported April 5 someone stole his Apple watch from a dresser drawer. The investigation will continue.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer on patrol April 5 spotted a vehicle stopped in the 100 block of Bob White Road with the male driver unconscious. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more.


Sherman Police


Assault — Officers were dispatched April 9 to the 1400 block of West Shields in reference to a male who had choked a female and then fled the scene. Upon further investigation, it was determined the couple was arguing about money and the male placed his hand around the female’s throat, causing her to struggle to breathe. The male then left the scene in the victim’s car and was later located at the victim’s home. He was arrested for assault family/house member impede breath/circulation and taken to the Grayson County Jail.


Stolen vehicle recovery — An officer was dispatched April 9 to the 1200 block of South Walnut in reference to a stolen vehicle. The officer found a vehicle reported stolen by the Dallas Police Department. The vehicle was towed for safekeeping and an offense report was taken.


Theft of property — A complainant entered the Sherman Police lobby April 9 and reported a theft that occurred in the 2800 block of Lindley Drive. Sometime during the last two weeks, items were stolen from heavy equipment that was parked outside. A report for theft of property from $750-$2,500 was filed.


Assault/evading arrest — Officers responded April 9 to an assault in the 1800 block of West Washington. The victim advised the male suspect left on foot en route to a friend’s residence. He was later captured after a short foot pursuit and transported to the Grayson County Jail. The suspect was booked for assault/family violence impeding breath and evading arrest with previous conviction.
