Denison Police are seeking a suspect who reportedly stole a vehicle Tuesday then fled from law enforcement.

Lt. Mike Eppler said at approximately 1:45 p.m. officers fielded a report of a stolen vehicle in the 700 block of East Sears Street. Eppler said the female complainant told responding officers her 2014 Hyundai was taken from her driveway, but she did not know who drove off with the car. Eppler said the woman’s vehicle was located a short time later by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, but the male suspect driving the car attempted to evade officers.

“A Grayson County deputy got after him so, he took off and eventually wrecked near the Exxon station on FM 120,” Eppler said.

The suspect then fled on foot and could not be located by responding officers. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no injuries were reported.

“We’ve got an idea of who the suspect is, but, of course, we’re continuing to investigate and we’ll be following up on tips and information received.” Eppler said.
