Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded March 8 to the report of a male who was asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the 1200 block of North Sam Rayburn Freeway. Upon arrival, they made contact with the suspect and learned he was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated, second.
Burglary of a building — Officers were dispatched March 8 to the 1200 block of North Travis in reference to a burglary of a building. The caller was an employee who found signs the business had been broken into. Officers discovered evidence the business was broken into and property was taken. Evidence was collected and a report for burglary of a building was created. The investigation is ongoing.
Assault — Officers were dispatched March 8 to the 5600 block of Texoma Parkway in response to a reported assault. A female victim had been hit in the face by a male suspect, and a male victim was assaulted with a vehicle. The male suspect fled the scene and was chased by officers. A report was generated for assault/family violence and aggravated assault.
Forgery — Officers responded March 8 to the report of a forgery at a business in the 900 block of North Cottonwood. Reporting parties advised a document had been forged. The officers obtained copies of the documents for evidence, and a report was generated.
Theft of property — A male reporting party made telephone contact March 8 with the public safety administrator regarding a theft. He stated a male suspect entered a business in the 400 block of U.S. Hwy. 82 and stole property. A report for theft of property less than $100 was taken.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer was dispatched March 8 in response to a call reporting an intoxicated driver in the 500 block of South U.S. Hwy. 75. The officer located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. The male driver performed standard field sobriety tests, and the officer observed several clues indicating the driver was intoxicated. The driver had the odor of alcohol emitting from his person and admitted to consuming alcohol before driving. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated, third or more.
Theft of property — An officer responded March 8 to the report of a theft in the 3600 block of North U.S. Highway 75. Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined a disgruntled employee walked out and stole a cellphone from another employee. A report was taken, and the case is under investigation.
Credit/debit card abuse — A female victim stated March 7 someone used her debit card for several unauthorized purchases. Someone also cashed checks on her checking account that she did not write. Officers will be following up on leads.
Driving while intoxicated — A vehicle lost control March 7 at U.S. Hwy. 75 and Spur 503 and rolled over. The male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated second, retaliation, resisting arrest and transport and terroristic threat public servant.
Warrant — An officer stopped a vehicle March 8 for a traffic violation at Austin and Gandy. The male driver was arrested for an outstanding city of Denison warrant.
Public intoxication — Officers responded March 8 to the call of a person passed out in a vehicle. They located the vehicle and arrested the male suspect for public intoxication.
Public intoxication — Officers responded to the call of a suspicious person in the 200 block of South Austin. The suspect was located and arrested for public intoxication.
Theft — Store personnel stated March 9 a male left a store in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 75 without paying for merchandise. An officer was sitting in the parking lot of the business and was approached by the complainant and advised of the theft. The officer had seen the suspect leave the store and get into a vehicle and drive away. After being advised by the complainant, the officer located the vehicle and stopped it. The suspect was arrested for theft over $100.
Possession — Officers responded March 9 to check the welfare of a child in a car in the 500 block of West Sears. A male suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Aggravated assault with deadly weapon — A male victim stated March 10 he was riding and struck by a vehicle purposely while traveling on Maurice Avenue. The driver of the other vehicle did not stop. The victim was not injured. The investigation will continue.
Theft — A male victim stated March 11 someone stole his Kawasaki KL6 motorcycle from his driveway in the 1000 block of Park Drive. The motorcycle had a Texas license plate of 744-N3N.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer stopped a vehicle March 11 for a traffic violation at Rusk and Acheson. The male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
