Bright blue skies and the sounds of amusements drew a crowd to the Main Street Plaza in Denison on Saturday for carnival rides and food.
Open from 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday, the attraction offered armband pricing and rides for everyone from the little bitties to the teens and adults.
Tony Bellman brought his granddaughter Haley to ride the rides and they really enjoyed the Ferris Wheel.
“We could see the mall couldn’t we?” her grandfather asked. In addition to the big wheel Haley rode the swings and other attractions but was anxious to leave to make it to a family sporting event.
Jason Webb brought his kids and wife to the event. The children ranged in age from 3 to 11 years old.
“We try to come at least once a year,” Webb said. “I think they come a few times a year but we try too make it out at least once a year.”
He said the armband pricing that was available Saturday afternoon made it affordable for families. The children didn’t seem to worry about that at all. They were concerned with picking out their first ride and a couple had their eye on that Ferris Wheel.
Webb said they have been patronizing the carnival for years and he isn’t worried about the safety of the attractions. His wife, Jamie, however, said she worries, but she lets the kids be kids anyway.
Pride Amusements was slated to be open until 10 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting.
