Theft of services — Complainant stated Feb. 27 that someone keeps removing the lock from a residential water meter in the 400 block of Mundt Drive. The account is several months behind, and $718.08 worth of water has been taken. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft — Store personnel stated Feb. 27 that a male took two packs of beer without paying for them and left on foot in the 300 block of South Armstrong. The suspect fled into a nearby residence to hide from the clerk, who was searching for the suspect. The suspect has been identified and a case sent to the Municipal Court for the theft. A case for criminal trespass will also be sent to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.
Public intoxication — Officers responded Feb. 27 to the call of an intoxicated person in the 1100 block of Oakridge. A female suspect was located and arrested for public intoxication.
Assault — Officers responded Feb. 28 to the call of a disturbance in the 1000 block of West Nelson. The female victim stated her husband had thrown a bag of chips at her and verbally insulted her. Officers spoke to the suspect, who agreed to stay in his room after the officers left. While the officers were still outside the residence, another disturbance could be heard inside, and the victim stated to the officers she had been slapped by her husband. The husband was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
Unauthorized use of vehicle — A male victim stated Feb. 28 two vehicles had been taken from his residence and he believed a juvenile relative and friend of the juvenile had taken the vehicles. One of the vehicles was spotted a few minutes later and stopped by an officer. The juvenile relative of the victim was the driver and was taken into custody for unauthorized use of a vehicle. The other vehicle was later found to have been returned. A completed case will be forwarded to the Grayson County Juvenile Probation Department.
Possession — Information was received Feb. 28 about possible drug activity at a residence in the 1600 block of West Johnson. A search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence. A male suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance greater than four grams.
Public intoxication/warrants — Officers responded March 1 to the call of suspicious activity on Smith Drive. The male suspect was located and arrested for public intoxication and two outstanding city of Denison warrants.
Burglary of a vehicle — A male victim stated March 1 that an unknown suspect(s) stole medical supplies from the bed of his pickup in the 700 block of West Hull.
Theft of firearm — Dispatch received a call Feb. 25 reporting the burglary of a motor home in the 700 block of South Montgomery. Officers responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. During their investigation, it was learned the back passenger side window had been smashed to provide entry. Several items, including a firearm, were stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
Possession/multiple offenses — An officer stopped a vehicle Feb. 26 for a traffic violation in the 800 block of East Lamar. The male driver was non-compliant. He was ultimately arrested for failure to identify, failure to display a driver’s license, operating a vehicle without license plates, expired registration, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest, search and transport. He was booked into the Grayson County Jail.
Assault — Officers responded Feb. 26 to a disturbance in the 100 block of East Hill. A male victim stated his roommate assaulted him by slapping him. The roommate in question also assaulted her husband by hitting him in the head with a cellphone. The female suspect was placed under arrest for assault and began to resist officers. She was eventually handcuffed and transported to the Grayson County Jail. She was charged with assault causing bodily injury/family violence and resisting arrest, search and transport.
Recovery of stolen vehicle — Officers were dispatched Feb. 26 to the 400 block of U.S. Highway 75 to assist the Denison Police Department in an ongoing investigation. A stolen vehicle was found and recovered. The vehicle was returned to its owner.
Assault — Officers were dispatched March 1 to the 1700 block of North Shannon in response to an assault. Upon arrival, they conducted an investigation. The female victim reported her husband slapped her in the face with an open hand, causing her to be offended. A report was generated for assault by contact/family violence.
Possession — Officers stopped a male pedestrian March 2 in the 200 block of West Staples. During the encounter, the officers located prescription medication in the subject’s possession that was not prescribed to him. The suspect was arrested for possession of a dangerous drug and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
