Sherman Police


Possession — An officer observed a travel bag Jan. 12 on the back porch of a residence in the 1700 block of North Travis. The officer walked to the porch to look at the bag and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the apartment. The officer spoke with the female homowner, and she advised the travel bag was not hers. A K-9 alerted on the bag and marijuana was found inside. A report was generated for possession of marijuana from four ounces to five pounds.


Manufacturing/delivering controlled substance — Officers conducted a traffic stop Jan. 13 in the 2700 block of Texoma Parkway. A search was conducted on the vehicle. Officers located six grams of methamphetamine. They were able to determine the driver’s girlfriend was intending on selling the narcotics. A report was generated for manufacturing and delivering controlled substance from four to 200 grams.


Criminal trespass — An officer was dispatched Jan. 12 to the 200 block of Dewey Ave. in response to a call of criminal trespass. The male suspect was located on the scene. The investigation that followed confirmed that the suspect had previously trespassed on the property. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass, and a report was generated.


Assault — An officer spoke Jan. 13 with a female victim in the 300 block of West Fairview. She reported being assaulted by her boyfriend earlier in the day somewhere near Waxahachie. A report for assault by contact was generated.


Criminal mischief — A female complainant made contact Jan. 20 with the public safety officer regarding vandalism. She stated she noticed damaged property at her residence in the 200 block of East King. A report was generated for criminal mischief from $100-$750.


Theft of property — A female complainant made contact Jan. 10 with the public safety officer regarding a theft. She reported that an unknown suspect(s) took property from the porch of her residence in the 3300 block of North FM 1417. A report for theft of property from $100-$750 was generated.


Assault — Officers responded Jan. 14 to a disturbance in the 1600 block of La Salle Drive. Upon arrival, they spoke with the female victim who said her live-in boyfriend assaulted her physically, causing her to feel pain. The suspect was not at the scene and could not be located. The investigation is ongoing.


Possession — Detectives responded Jan. 15 to a complaint of narcotics in the 6400 block of Texoma Parkway. Over a gram of methamphetamine was located. The suspect will be filed on for the offense.


Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop Jan. 15 in the 800 block of Starlight Drive. Three passengers in the vehicle were found to be in possession of marijuana, and one was also found to be in possession of Xanax pills. The three individuals were arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces. One was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance. An offense report was generated.


Denison Police


Burglary of a building — A complainant stated Jan. 16 an unknown suspect(s) stole several tools from a construction site in the 300 block of east Hull. The items included an air compressor, radio, three drills, a skill saw and an air hose.


Assault — A male victim stated Jan. 16 he was assaulted in the 2900 block of West Morton by a friend of his girlfriend after he confronted her about a photograph he showed her. The victim did not require any medical attention. The case will be referred to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.


Theft — A victim reported Jan. 16 that an unknown suspect(s) stole a five foot by eight foot homemade trailer, white in color with a Texas license plate 272-99E, from a business in the 3400 block of Interurban Road.


Suspicious vehicle — Officers responded Jan. 16 to the call of a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of Parnell. They located the vehicle and the male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Theft — A male victim stated Jan. 17 that someone stole four rims with no tires on them from his carport in the 1400 block of West Crawford. Officers are following up on leads.


Suspicious person — A female complainant reported Jan. 17 that she observed a male standing outside a glass door in the 200 block of North Chandler exposing himself. She went to tell her husband, and when she returned, the suspect was gone. The suspect is described as having a light skin tone, five feet, 10 inches, 165 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.


Theft — A male victim stated Jan. 17 that someone stole four rims with no tires on them from his carport in the 1400 block of West Crawford. Officers are following up on leads.


Theft of firearm — A female victim reported Jan. 18 that an unknown suspect(s) stole a handgun and ammunition from a lock box inside her residence in the 1000 block of Wes Thatcher.


Identity theft — A complainant stated Jan. 18 that an unknown suspect(s) opened two separate accounts using his identity.
