The Texas Department of Public Safety said a 3-year-old boy was killed Sunday after two vehicles collided on FM 121 near Van Alstyne.
According to an emailed incident report, DPS troopers responded to a report of a crash on FM 121 near Edwards Road at approximately 1:45 p.m. Investigators determined that a westbound Cadillac, driven by a 24-year-old woman from Anna and occupied by two young children, veered out of its lane and collided with an eastbound pickup.
“Both children were transported … for treatment, one by air and one by ground,” the DPS report read. “The three-year-old passenger was pronounced dead when he arrived at Children’s (Medical Center Dallas.)”
The driver of the Cadillac and the one-year-old child were both taken to Texoma Medical Center. Their conditions were not immediately available Monday morning.
The driver and passenger of the pickup were both transported to Medical City McKinney with injuries that were not life threatening.
The DPS report said it was unclear why the driver of the Cadillac lost control of her vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
