The Denison City Council is expected to take action on a series of amendments to the city’s animal control ordinances when it meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Denison City Hall. The amendment will include a provision that would require owners of an animal that has been impounded to prove the animal has been spayed or neutered within 30 days of release.

The council is also expected to consider an amendment to the city’s solid waste collection ordinance ahead of the change to automated collection later this spring.

In a closed, executive session, the council is expected to discuss the following items before reconvening to take any necessary action:

• pending litigation regarding 715 W. Sears;

• a review of applications for municipal court judge and magistrate; and

• an update on pending negotiations and projects with the Denison Development Alliance.
