Sherman Police


Driving while intoxicated — Dispatch received multiple calls Jan. 5 reporting an intoxicated driver in the 1200 block of Sam Rayburn Freeway. Officers were dispatched and they located the male driver who was driving the wrong direction on a one-way road, with his child in the vehicle. The officers conducted a traffic stop and administered a field sobriety test on the driver. It was determined that the driver was intoxicated and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated with child under 15 years of age.


Credit/debit card abuse — Officers were dispatched Jan. 4 to the 500 block of South Gribble in response to a report of fraud in the 500 block of South Gribble. The reporting party advised that her debit card was taken from her purse inside the residence while she was sleeping. She received low balance reports via phone messages from her financial institution, resulting in her discovery that her debit card was missing. A report was generated and the investigation is ongoing.


Theft — Officers responded Jan. 5 to the report of a theft in the 600 block of South Crockett. They conducted an investigation which revealed a female suspect had entered the residence with the permission of the owner and had stolen money from the resident upon leaving. A report was generated for theft from $100-$750.


Burglary of a building — Officers were dispatched Jan. 5 to a business in the 500 block of East Houston in response to a report of theft. Upon arrival, they learned that a storage building was burglarized and that miscellaneous power tools were taken. An offense report was generated.


Public intoxication — Officers responded Jan. 5 to a welfare concern in the 1300 block of Cleveland Avenue. An investigation was conducted and a male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Assault — Officers responded Jan. 5 to the report of an assault in the 1000 block of East Odneal. The female victim stated she was assaulted by a family member. A report was taken for assault causing bodily injury/family member.


Forgery — Officers spoke with a person on Jan. 6 in the 200 block of Dewey Avenue. During a consensual search that followed, counterfeit money was located. The counterfeit money was seized and an offense report was completed.


Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched Jan. 6 to the 2000 block of East Cherry Street in response to a report of criminal mischief. Upon arrival, they learned a window on a vehicle had been vandalized. An offense report was completed.


Denison Police


Possession — An officer stopped a vehicle Jan. 4 for a traffic violation in the 1600 block of West Bond. The female driver was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces and tampering/fabricating physical evidence.


Possession/warrant — An officer stopped a vehicle Jan. 4 for a traffic violation in the 2600 block of Eisenhower Parkway. The male driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and for an outstanding city of Denison warrant.


Stolen vehicle — Officers responded Jan. 4 to the report of a theft in the 200 block of North Tone. The complainant stated an unknown suspect(s) stole a 2010 Nissan Sentra, white in color, from a used car lot.


Criminal mischief — A female victim reported damage to her vehicle in the 400 block of North U.S. Hwy. 75 on Jan. 4. She stated someone scratched the driver side and passenger doors of her vehicle, possibly with a key, while it was parked at a local store.


Possession/warrants — An officer stopped a vehicle Jan. 4 for a traffic violation in the 800 block of West Crawford. The male driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and for several outstanding city of Denison warrants.


Possession — An officer stopped a vehicle Jan. 4 for a traffic violation in the 1000 block of East FM 120. The male driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.


Burglary of a building — Store personnel stated Jan. 6 that a female pushed a shopping cart of merchandise past the last point of sale without paying for the merchandise. Since the suspect already received a criminal trespass warning for the property, she was arrested for burglary of a building.


Burglary of a vehicle — A male victim stated Jan. 7 that an unknown suspect broke a window in his vehicle parked in the 1200 South Derby. A check, paperwork and credit/debit cards were taken from the vehicle. The cards were later used at a local business. The investigation will continue.


Aggravated assault with deadly weapon — A victim was at a location Jan. 7 where a relative was having a confrontation with other people. The victim got into a verbal altercation with a different individual who was in a vehicle with an opened door. The vehicle started moving with the door striking the victim in the knee. The vehicle left the scene and the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening.
