Denison Police arrested a man Saturday afternoon on an outstanding Grayson County warrant after a chase that took them from Denison to Pottsboro.
Lt. Mike Eppler said the incident started as a traffic stop shortly after 1 p.m. at the intersection of Bullock and Woodlawn. When the man driving the vehicle didn’t stop, the chase began and continued for 30 minutes, making its way over to Pottsboro before ending on FM 406.
The man driving the vehicle was identified as Chad Mitchell Briton, 47, of Denison and he was arrested on charges of evading arrest with previous convictions, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and an outstanding Grayson County warrant.
Denison Police were assisted in the chase by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas State Park Police.
Eppler said no one was injured in the chase and it didn’t end in a crash. During the chase, a dispatcher could be heard on a police scanner telling the officers involved that the driver of the car had called in to say he was going to slow down and stop his car shortly before the chase ended.
