The Sherman Planning & Zoning Commission will consider plans for a Kid’s Town Indoor Playground to open in the city during its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers of City Hall, 220 W. Mulberry St.
Owners Aberfeldy Properties Inc. are requesting a specific use permit and site plan approval to open the commercial amusement center at 2001 Loy Lake Road, suite P, in the Loy Lake Plaza Shopping Center. Kid’s Town Indoor Playground would provide climbing structures, trampolines, slides and riding toys for children of a pre-kindergarten age. It will also have space for parties on weekends.
The commission will also consider a zoning change and conceptual site plan approval for YE Urban Lofts at 5005 North Travis Street. Owner Young Enterprises LP is requesting the zoning change from a single family residential district to a multi-family residential district to build a three story, 63-plus unit apartment building at the location between Northcreek Drive and Liberty Hill Trail.
A specific use permit and site plan approval is also being sought by owner Wormington Estates LLC for a wedding and party event venue at 402 South Crockett Street. The location has been used as a law office for the past several years. The commission’s board of adjustments will also consider an exception to allow off-premise parking.
Site plan approval will be considered for a planned 6,000-square-foot building for East Sherman Baptist Church at 2122 South FM 1417. The commission’s board of adjustments will also consider an exception for a landscape buffer and screening on the property.
Property owner Henry Blime Loe Jr. has requested a specific use permit and site plan approval to put a digital billboard at 817 North Sam Rayburn Freeway. The board of adjustments will also consider variances for setbacks from the property line.
The commission will consider site plan approval and a specific use permit for an automobile repair shop at 1305 North Sam Rayburn Freeway.
A zoning change to a one-family residential district will be considered for the property at 801 and 805 South Montgomery Street at the request of owner Roberto Meraz.
Cupid Properties LLC are requesting to replat the property at 1203 South First Street into three lots for residential construction. The board of adjustments will consider a variance to allow those lots to have widths of 50 feet.
