Sherman Police


Assault/kidnapping — An officer was dispatched Nov. 3 to a disturbance in the 1400 block of South Travis. A female victim stated that her boyfriend assaulted and choked her and then took her child without her permission. Prior to officer arrival, the boyfriend returned with the child. The boyfriend was arrested for assault/family member/impeding breath/aggravated kidnapping.


Burglary of a vehicle —An officer was dispatched Nov. 3 to the 400 block of East Houston in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. The suspect stole tools from inside the vehicle. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.


Robbery — An individual contacted the Sherman Police Department Nov. 3 to report a robbery that took place the night before in the 600 block of East College. The victim was physically assaulted and various items were stolen off his person. A report for robbery was filed.


Found property — A social security card was found Nov. 3 in the 800 block of Odneal Street. A report for found property was generated.


Theft of property — A complainant entered the Sherman Police Station on Nov. 3 to report a stolen phone. An officer conducted an investigation and gathered preliminary information about the incident. No suspect was named or identified. A report for theft of property was generated. The investigation is ongoing.


Assault — An officer was dispatched Nov. 4 to the 300 block of South Heritage Parkway in reference to a possible assault. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with both parties and determined an assault causing bodily injury/family member had occurred. A report was filed.


Found property — An officer responded Nov. 4 to an address in the 2500 block of West Lamberth Road in reference to a found debit card. The card was seized and a report was completed for “found property.”


Theft of firearm — A male complaint entered the Sherman Police Department Nov. 6 and spoke with the public safety administrator. The complainant reported the theft of a firearm from the 800 block of Crestview Drive.


Theft — A male victim stated Nov. 15 that someone stole his Yamaha Wave Runner, blue and white in color, from his front yard in the 2800 block of Ray Drive. Officers will be following up on leads.


Harassment — An officer was dispatched Nov. 6 to the 2600 block of Cornerstone Drive in reference to harassment. The reporting party stated an unknown person made several calls to the facility using alarming language. A report for harassment was completed.


Theft of property — A male reporting party made telephone contact Nov. 6 with the public safety administrator to report a theft. The complainant stated that a male suspect stole property from a business located in the 6400 block of Texoma Parkway. A report was filed for theft of property from $100-$750.


Burglary of a vehicle — A male complainant made contact with the public safety administrator to report illegal entry into his vehicle. The complainant stated that an unknown party or parties had made illegal entry into his vehicle while it was parked at his residence in the 800 block of Crestview Drive and took property.


Denison Police


Credit/debit card abuse — A complainant reported Nov. 11 that a relative took two debit cards from a home in the 500 block of Marcel and used them multiple times for unauthorized purchases. The investigation will continue.


Burglary — A female victim reported Nov. 11 that an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle in the 1800 block of North State Highway 91 and took jumper cables, an auxiliary cord, a phone adapter, iPod and paperwork from the vehicle.


Theft — A male victim stated Nov. 14 that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of West Crawford and removed some checks. One of the checks was passed at a local store. Officers will be following up on leads.


Outstanding warrant — An officer stopped a vehicle Nov. 14 for a traffic violation in the 500 block of North Chandler. The male driver was arrested for outstanding Grayson County and Collin County warrants. A female occupant was arrested for an outstanding Atascosa County warrant.


Burglary of a vehicle — A female victim stated Nov. 14 that an unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle with a window not secured in the 700 block of West Day. A GPS system, sunglasses, a car charger, a radio and some cash were taken.


Assault — A female victim stated Nov. 14 that her boyfriend assaulted her in the 1600 block of South Austin by striking her with an open hand and pushing her. He also took her phone from her when she tried to call the police and then fled the scene. The suspect was located later at a different location and was arrested for outstanding Grayson County warrants and assault causing bodily injury/family violence/interference with emergency call. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.


Credit/debit card abuse — A female complainant stated Nov. 15 that someone took her mother’s credit/debit card from the 3100 block of West Crawford and used it multiple times to make unauthorized purchases in the area. A report was filed for credit/debit card abuse/elderly person. Officers are following up on leads.
