The Denison City Council will discuss a proposed funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for ramp improvement projects on U.S. Highway 75 when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday at Denison City Hall.
The proposed improvements would affect the southbound service road of U.S. Highway 75 between Spur 503 and FM 691 and create improved access to the Gateway Village development. Under the terms of the agreement, the city will put $350,000 toward the $7.5 million project.
Other items that will be considered include:
• a $200,000 grant through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Recreational Trails Program for improvements to Waterloo Lake Regional Park; and
• an agreement with the Denison Chamber of Commerce for Hotel Occupancy Tax marketing services.
In a closed executive session, the council will discuss the following items before reconvening in open session to take any necessary action:
• pending litigation regarding 715 W. Sears; and
• contemplated litigation for enforcement or collection of delinquent hotel occupancy taxes of the Hampton Inn & Suites.
