Denison Police


Theft of vehicle — A complainant stated Oct. 18 that a male entered a local auto dealership and purchased a new vehicle with information that was later determined to be fraudulent. The vehicle was entered as stolen and was located in Mesquite.


Assault — A female complainant stated on Oct. 17 that her daughter was struck in the nose by a fellow student, outside of class, after the two had gotten into an argument in class in the 4200 block of State Hwy. 91. The case will be forwarded to the Grayson County Juvenile Probation Department.


Failure to stop — An officer stopped a vehicle Oct. 17 in the 500 block of South Armstrong. The male driver was arrested for failure to stop at a designated point.


Burglary of a building — A victim stated Oct. 18 that someone entered an enclosed carport area in the 500 block of East Main and stole an impact wrench, weedeater and lawn blower. Officers will be following up on leads.


Disorderly conduct — Officers responded Oct. 18 to the call of a disturbance in the 600 block of North Bush. A male and female were arrested for disorderly conduct (language).


Burglary of a habitation — A victim stated Oct. 18 that an unknown suspect(s) entered a residence in the 700 block of West Hull by forcing open a door and removed silver jewelry items.


Theft — A female victim stated Oct. 18 that her boyfriend left her residence after an altercation and took her cellphone. The investigation will continue.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded Oct. 20 to the call of an intoxicated person in the drive-thru lane of a restaurant in the 1100 block of South Austin. The male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Burglary — A female victim stated Oct. 20 that someone entered her vehicle in the 1300 block of West Morgan and removed a purse and its contents. Officers will be following up on leads.


Theft — A female victim stated Oct. 23 that someone stole her purse and contents from a secured storage area in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 75 South. Her debit card was used at some local businesses shortly thereafter. A Sherman Police officer stopped a vehicle two hours later and located some of the victim’s property, which was recovered. The suspect was identified and a case will be filed with the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded Oct. 23 to the call of an erratic driver in the 700 block of South Austin. The female driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Public intoxication — Officers responded Oct. 23 to the call of a disturbance at a convenience store in the 1400 block of South Austin. A male suspect was arrested for theft under $100 and public intoxication.


Sherman Police


Burglary of a vehicle — An officer was dispatched Oct. 10 to the 1700 block of East Hilton in reference to the burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, it was found that an unknown person entered an unlocked motor vehicle and stole a tablet computer. A report was made for burglary of a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.


Theft of property — A male reporting party made telephone contact Oct. 10 with the public safety officer in reference to a theft. He stated that an unknown suspect stole property from a vehicle on a parking lot in the 900 block of East Wells.


Theft of property — A female made telephone contact Oct. 10 with the public safety officer to report wiring that was stolen from a construction site in the 800 block of Sam Rayburn Freeway in Sherman.


Fraud — A male victim reported Oct. 13 that his bank account had been compromised as well as his identifying information. An investigation was conducted and a report was generated for fraudulent use/possession identifying information less than five items.


Found property — An officer was dispatched Oct. 13 to the 900 block of North Woods in reference to a bicycle that had been left in a yard during the night. The bicycle was taken to the Sherman Police Department and a report for found property was completed.


Assault — Dispatch received a call Oct. 13 reporting an assault at a residence in the 100 block of West Park Avenue. The victim claimed her husband grabbed her and threw her down. She did not have injuries. A report was generated for assault family violence causes bodily injury family member.


Theft of property — Dispatch received a call Oct. 13 to report a male looking through vehicles on the parking lot of a business in the 900 block of North Travis. The suspect was located attempting to steal a tire and rim from a vehicle. The suspect was arrested for theft of property less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions.
