Joe Brown recently got a new assistant U.S. attorney.
Wes Wynne, formerly with the Collin County District Attorney’s Office, took the oath of office Thursday as new assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Texas under Brown. The former Grayson County district attorney is beefing up the local division’s Sherman office by hiring Wynne and a number of other young attorneys.
“We are excited to have Wes in the office,” Brown said in a written statement after the event Thursday. “He is part of a really fine group of young lawyers that have come on board recently. He was a star at the Collin County DA’s Office, and he has Grayson County roots, so I think he will fit in great.”
Wynne prosecuted 1,850 felony cases in Collin County, including capital murder cases, aggravated assaults and child sex cases.
He graduated from Baylor University in May of 2003 and Texas A&M University School of Law in May 2007. His is the son of Sherman attorney Mike Wynne and his wife Sherry.
