Driving while intoxicated — Officers observed a vehicle Sept. 9 that was traveling the wrong way in the 100 block of West Lamar Street. A traffic stop was conducted and an investigation was completed. The male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Burglary of a building — Officers responded Sept. 10 to the report of a burglary in the 900 block of North Travis Street. The business had been broken into and property was stolen. There were also several vehicles stolen from the parking lot of the business. A report was generated for burglary of a building, and the investigation is ongoing.
Assault — Officers were dispatched Sept. 7 to the 1400 block of North Highland Avenue in reference to an assault. Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined an assault had occurred between friends. Only minor injuries were reported. The parties were separated. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.
Assault — Officers responded Sept. 8 to a disturbance in the 2400 block of Shannon Street between two males. It was reported that one male threw a beer can at the other, causing him to feel pain in his shoulder. A report was generated for assault causes bodily injury.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer stopped a possible intoxicated driver Sept. 8 in the 3200 block of North Heritage Parkway. It was determined that the male driver was intoxicated, and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer was dispatched Sept. 8 to the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to a minor vehicle crash. The female caller advised dispatch that she had run into a building. After an investigation, the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated second.
Burglary of a building — An officer responded Sept. 8 to a business alarm in the 4800 block of Texoma Parkway. After an investigation, it was determined that an unknown suspect(s) made forced entry into two businesses in an attempt to steal property. Heavy damages were inflicted, and the suspect(s) fled before officer arrival. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.
Possession — Sherman Police and EMS were dispatched Sept. 8 to the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 in response to a male passed out in a vehicle. Upon arrival, units located the male and found him to be awake but uncooperative. A probable cause search of his vehicle revealed 2.2 grams of methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Fraud — Dispatch received a call Sept. 8 in reference to a theft in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 82. A female customer at a local business switched price tags to a lower amount. The suspect was arrested for fraud destroy removal concealment writing. A report was generated.
Burglary — An officer was dispatched Sept. 8 to the 600 block of Graham Drive in reference to the burglary of a motor vehicle. Dispatch advised that witnesses observed suspects gain entry into a vehicle and take property. Upon officer arrival and investigation, it was determined that an unknown suspect gained entry into the victim’s vehicle and stole miscellaneous items. The suspect fled the scene once he knew he was being watched. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.
Theft — An officer responded Sept. 8 to a business in the 4100 block of Town Center Street in reference to a male suspect who appeared to be preparing merchandise to steal. The officer observed the suspect closing a transaction with unpaid items in his bag. A report for theft of property $100-$750 was filed.
Assault — Officers were dispatched Sept. 9 to a large disturbance at a business in the 4400 block of West Houston Street. Upon arrival, they located two patrons who stated they were grabbed by the neck in the parking lot, which caused them pain. A report for assault causes bodily injury was generated.
Found property — A citizen delivered a bicycle to the Sherman Police Department Sept. 9 that was found behind a closed business. A report for found property was completed.
Criminal trespass — Officers were dispatched Sept. 9 to the 1900 block of North Travis in reference to criminal trespass. Officers spoke to the caller who advised that suspect(s) entered the store to purchase alcohol. Officers located the suspect(s) who admitted to being on the property. A report for criminal trespass was completed.
Unauthorized use of vehicle — A male driver was operating a vehicle Sept. 11 that was not displaying any license plates and the vehicle had a defective brake light. The vehicle was stopped for the traffic violation. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Kentucky. The male suspect was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Burglary of a habitation — Officers responded Sept. 11 to the report of a burglary in the 300 block of Archer Drive. A resident stated that someone entered his residence and stole property. After investigating, the property was located and returned. A report for burglary of a habitation was generated.
