Denison Police


Theft of vehicle — A male victim stated on Sept. 1 that someone stole his 1994 Dodge pickup truck from the 600 block of West Chestnut. The vehicle was recovered a few hours later at a store in the 300 block of South Armstrong. The investigation will continue.


Burglary of a vehicle — A male victim stated on Sept. 1 that an unknown suspect(s) stole numerous tools from the back of his pickup truck in the 1800 block of State Highway 91. Officers are following up on leads.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded on Sept. 1 to the call of an erratic driver at Crawford and U.S. Highway 75. The vehicle was located and the suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated third or more.


Theft — A male victim stated on Sept. 1 that someone stole several tools from the bed of his pickup truck in the 1800 block of State Highway 91.


Theft — A male victim stated on Sept. 1 that an unknown suspect(s) stole his 12-foot trailer from his driveway in the 600 block of Queens Road. The trailer is black in color with a license plate of FBV-W42.


Burglary of a vehicle — A victim stated on Sept. 2 that an unknown suspect(s) entered their vehicle in the 2600 block of West Walker and took a drill, diagnostic tool, GPS system, electrical systems and some cash.


Theft — A male victim stated on Sept. 3 that an unknown suspect(s) stole a 16-foot trailer from his backyard in the 1000 block of West Johnson. The trailer is white in color and contained concrete house siding on it.


Theft of firearm — A male victim stated on Sept. 3 that someone entered his unlocked vehicle in the 1300 block of West Chestnut and stole a handgun, some ammunition and a backpack.


Theft of vehicle — A female victim stated on Sept. 4 that an unknown suspect(s) stole her 2004 Kia Spectra from the 300 block of West Monterey. The Illinois license plate is K87-9365.


Sherman Police


Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 26 in the 200 block of East Houston Street. Upon contact with the driver, they detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search yielded less than two ounces of marijuana. A report for possession of marijuana was generated and will be filed for the issuance of a warrant.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 26 to the 3000 block of Northridge Drive in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, they learned that a disturbance in a moving vehicle led to a female being pushed from the vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. A male suspect was arrested for assault causes bodily injury/family member.


Leaving scene of accident — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 26 to report a minor accident in the 200 block of Archer Drive. After an investigation was completed, it was determined that the person who caused the accident left the scene without providing information. An accident report was taken as well as a report for duty on striking unattended vehicle.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 26 to a disturbance in the 1600 block of Vietnam Veterans Parkway. Upon arrival, they were informed by residents that the disturbance had been verbal only and that nothing else had occurred. An investigation was completed and a male suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Possession — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 26 to the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, they made contact with the suspect. The officers searched the person in question and other suspects and located methamphetamine on one of the suspects. A report was completed for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, equal to or greater than one gram, less than four grams.


Assault — Officers responded on Aug. 26 to a disturbance in the 4800 block of Highgrove Drive. A female victim stated that a female suspect kicked in her door and kicked her. A report for assault causes bodily injury and criminal mischief was generated.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 27 to the 900 block of South Travis in reference to a possible assault. An investigation was conducted and a report for assault by contact was filed. The investigation is ongoing.


Found property — A male entered the lobby of police headquarters on Aug. 27 to report found property. He informed the public safety administrator that he had found a pair of keys in the middle of OB Groner Road at Rolling Meadows Drive. A report was generated for found property.


Possession — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 27 to a residence in the 1700 block of West College Street in reference to drug paraphernalia. An employee with Child Protective Services had observed the material in question during a home visit. A report for possession of drug paraphernalia was completed.


Credit/debit card abuse — A female entered the lobby of police headquarters on Aug. 27 to report being victimized by fraud. She informed the public safety administrator that since March of 2018 her debit card had been used fraudulently, multiple times for a total amount exceeding $1,000. A report for fraud was generated.
