Landmark Bank will hold is eighth annual Patriot Day ceremony on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Representatives from Landmark Bank will host a flag-raising ceremony in memory of those lost in the attacks that occurred in New York City; Washington, D.C.; and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 11, 2001 and to honor those who continue to risk their lives daily to ensure our collective safety.

The ceremony will be held in front of Landmark Bank at 720 East Peyton, across from the post office, and will include a performance of the Star-Spangled Banner by the Sherman High School Band. The local Honor Guard from the fire and police departments will carry out the flag ceremony, the Sherman Police Regional Pipe Band will perform and Police Chief Zachary Flores will speak. City officials and area first responders will also attend.

Landmark Bank representatives said they realize Patriot Day is not a federal holiday and that schools and businesses will be open. However, they hope that many area residents will be able to share a few moments paying tribute to those that were lost and those who protect the community today.
