Grayson County Republicans are planning a “GOP Party in the Park” campaign kickoff event for local candidates on Sept. 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Trollinger Park in Whitesboro.

“This is going to be a wonderful community event that brings together families and provides a time of fellowship between local, state and federal leaders and our citizens,” veteran William Welch said.

In addition to William Welch, the “GOP Party in the Park” is being hosted by Sharron Welch, Bobbie Erwin, the Grayson County Republican Party, Grayson Republicans PAC and the Grayson County Republican Women’s Club. The event, which will be free and open to the public, will host local, state and federal candidates on the Republican ticket.

“We are going to have hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn, lemonade and all types of fun games for the kids,” retired teacher Glenda Coulson said. “We encourage everyone to come out and get involved. Our future is too important to leave in the hands of others.”
