Failure to identify — Officers made contact on Aug. 22 with a male who was riding a bicycle without brakes in the 700 block of East Lamberth Road. When one of the officers attempted to write a citation for the violation, the male refused to provide his name and information. The suspect was arrested for failure to identify and for the bicycle violation.
Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 22 on the southbound service road in the 1700 block of U.S. Highway 75. The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Assault — A male victim entered the lobby of the Sherman Police Department on Aug. 22 to report being assaulted in the 1300 block of South Heritage Parkway. A report was generated for assault causes bodily injury, and the investigation is ongoing.
Found property — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 22 to the 500 block of North Highland in reference to found property. A security officer found 0.10 ounces of marijuana in a clear plastic baggie in a hospital room. The marijuana was seized as evidence, and later secured in an evidence locker at the Sherman Police Department. A report was generated for found property.
Forgery — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 22 to the 1800 block of North Loy Lake Road in reference to fraud. Upon arrival, it was found that a male was in possession of a counterfeit bill and had tried to make a purchase with it. A report was made for forgery government/national instrument/money/security. The investigation is ongoing.
Possession — An officer stopped a vehicle on Aug. 26 in the 2500 block of North Highway 75. The officer spoke with both occupants in the vehicle and located contraband on their person. The officer then deployed his K9 partner to open air sniff around the vehicle, and the K9 alerted on the vehicle. The officer located more contraband inside the vehicle. A report was generated for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Assault — Officers were dispatched to a residence on Aug. 26 in the 1900 block of Yarborough Drive in reference to a disturbance. There had been a physical altercation between family members. A female suspect was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family member.
Burglary — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 26 to the 700 block of East Cherry in reference to a vehicle burglary. The officer made contact with the victim and the suspect, recovered the stolen items, and returned them to the owner. A report was generated for burglary of a vehicle, and the case will be filed for the issuance of a warrant.
Public intoxication — Officers responded on Aug. 27 to a call of a male in a car who was unresponsive. The subject was arrested for public intoxication.
Theft — Store personnel in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75 stated on Aug. 27 that a female concealed merchandise and went past the last point of sale without paying for the merchandise. When store personnel approached her, she fled on foot. Responding officers located the suspect, who then fled from the officers. She was apprehended and arrested for theft over $100 and evading arrest/detention.
Theft — A victim stated on Aug. 28 that someone stole his 16 foot homemade trailer that was unsecured in the 2800 block of West Crawford. The trailer is John Deere green in color and has a tandem axle. The license plate on the trailer is 063-282H. Officers will be following up on leads.
Burglary of a habitation — A complainant stated on Aug. 28 that someone stole salon supplies from a residential loft apartment in the 600 block of West Main. Officers will be following up on leads.
Criminal mischief — A male victim stated on Aug. 28 that someone slashed one of his tires in the 100 block of Sharon Circle. Officers will be following up on leads.
Theft — A male victim stated on Aug. 28 that someone took a Playstation 4, controllers and games from his room. Officers will be following up on leads.
Public intoxication — Officers responded on Aug. 30 to the call of an intoxicated person refusing to leave a hospital in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 75. The male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.
Theft — A female victim stated on Aug. 30 that an unknown suspect(s) stole a set of keys from the seat in the vehicle she was driving.
Public intoxication — A officer observed a male having a lack of balance and being confused. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.
Motor vehicle accident — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 1 to the 1800 block of FM 84 West in response to a motor vehicle accident. A male driver was arrested for intoxication assault.
Possession — Officers responded on Sept. 1 to the call of a suspicious female inside a restaurant in the 200 block of South Austin. The suspect was arrested for an outstanding city of Denison warrant and possession of a controlled substance.
