Sherman Police


Possession — An officer was dispatched on July 14 to a residence in the 300 block of Walcott in reference to a female unaware of her location. The house was occupied by two females who admitted to taking a lot of drugs and being in a confused state. A pipe containing residue was given to the officer. A report for possession of a controlled substance penalty group one, less than one gram was filed on each female.


Theft of property — Officers responded on July 15 to a disturbance in the 1700 block of East Lamar Street. Upon arrival, it was learned that one of the parties had stolen some food products and fled the scene. A report was generated for theft of property.


Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched on July 15 to the 1500 block of Rusk. An investigation was conducted, and a report was filed for criminal mischief from $100-$750.


Harassment — A male victim contacted dispatch on July 16 to report ongoing harassment from a former contract employee.


Possession — Officers conducted a security check on July 17 of a city park in the 2300 block of Pecan Grove West. They located marijuana in a vehicle. A male passenger admitted the marijuana was his. The suspect was arrested and a report for possession of marijuana less than two ounces was generated.


Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on July 16 in the 4900 block of Texoma Parkway for no tag light. An investigation was conducted, and a report was filed for possession of a controlled substance penalty group one, less than one ounce.


Theft of property — The public safety administrator made contact on July 16 with a female complainant in the 2200 block of Texoma Drive. She stated that her wallet had been stolen on July 13. A report for theft was generated.


Theft of property — The public safety administrator made contact on July 16 with a female reporting party in the 3600 block of South U.S. Highway 75. The female stated that multiple suspects entered a business on July 14 and stole merchandise valued over $300. A report for theft was generated.


Theft of property — The public safety administrator made contact on July 16 with a male reporting party in reference to a theft in the 4800 block of Marshall Street. The male reported that a pallet of items valued over $1,600 was stolen from the property. A report for theft was filed.


Theft of property — The public safety administrator made contact on July 16 with a male reporting party in the 3100 block of Northgate Drive in reference to a theft. The male reported that a male suspect(s) was seen on the construction site stealing over $2,500 worth of materials. A report was generated for theft.


Theft — Contact was made on July 16 by the public safety administrator with a female complainant in the 2600 block of Cornerstone. She stated that cash had been stolen from her wallet. A report for theft was filed.


Theft of property — A male reporting party was contacted on July 17 by the public safety administrator. The reporting party stated that a male suspect entered a business in the 2800 block of North U.S. Highway 75 and stole multiple tool sets. A report was generated for theft.


Theft — The public safety administrator made contact on July 16 with a male reporting party in the 2800 block of U.S. Highway 75. The reporting party stated that a male suspect entered a business and stole multiple items. A report for theft was filed.


Driving while intoxicated with a child — A traffic stop was conducted on July 16 in the 1900 block of North Grand Avenue. The female driver of the vehicle was suspected of being intoxicated. After an investigation was conducted, the driver was determined to be intoxicated. The driver had two children under the age of 15 in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated with child under 15 years of age.


Denison Police


Burglary — A complainant reported on July 17 that an unknown suspect(s) stole quarters out of a change machine at a business in the 2300 block of West Morton.


Warrant — An officer saw a female suspect on July 17 at a local convenience store in the 1400 block of South Austin. He knew she had an outstanding Grayson County warrant. When the officer approached her, she fled on foot, but was captured quickly. She was arrested for the outstanding warrant and for evading arrest/detention.


Theft — A male victim stated on July 17 that someone stole his bicycle from outside his apartment in the 1500 block of South Austin. Officers will be following up on leads.


Welfare concern — A complainant stated on July 17 that her son, 44 years of age, left work on July 12, and that she hasn’t seen him since. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Denison Police Department.


Warrant — Officers responded on July 17 to a caller who reported people being inside a vacant residence. A suspect was arrested for having an outstanding Grayson County warrant.


Assault — A female victim stated on July 17 that she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend while he was getting his belongings from the residence. She was thrown around and hit her head on a wall. The case has been referred to Municipal Court.
