Shots fired — Officers responded on June 28 to shots fired in the 700 block of East Main. A male suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. No one was shot, and no one was injured. No weapon was recovered.
Driving while license invalid — A vehicle was stopped on June 28 for a traffic violation in the 4800 block of FM 120 West. The male driver was arrested for driving while license invalid/enhanced.
Burglary of a vehicle — A female victim stated on June 28 that she is missing a speaker and amplifier from the trunk of her vehicle in the 400 block of West Hull. Officers will be following up on leads.
Theft — A female complainant stated on June 28 that a lawnmower and window AC unit were removed from her former residence in the 700 block of North Barrett. Officers will be following up on leads.
Fugitive from justice — An officer observed a vehicle broken down and partially blocking an intersection in the 1000 block of West Coffin on June 28. A male suspect was arrested for failure to identify/fugitive from justice and resisting arrest/transport.
Sleeping in public — An officer on patrol on June 29 observed a male suspect asleep on a sidewalk in the 400 block of East Main. The suspect was arrested for sleeping in public.
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon — A male victim stated on June 29 that he was walking his dog in the 800 block of West Monterey when a male suspect approached him and yelled at him. The suspect then pulled out a pistol, either a BB gun or pellet gun, and fired several shots at him, and then left the scene. The victim was checked into a local hospital and was found to have not received any life threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing.
Unauthorized use of vehicle — A female victim stated on June 30 that she loaned a vehicle to someone to take items to a pawn shop for her and the person did not return the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Sherman. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.
Counterfeit currency — Store personnel stated on June 30 that a customer paid for some merchandise and a $10 and $20 bill were found to be counterfeit. The investigation will continue.
Theft of vehicle — A female victim stated on July 1 that someone stole her tan Ford Escape from her driveway in the 100 West block of West Murray.
Burglary of a habitation — An officer responded on June 29 to the report of a burglary in the 700 block of East McGee. The victim stated that she found the back door of her residence was forced open when she arrived home. She explained that multiple items were stolen. A report for burglary of a habitation was generated. The investigation is ongoing.
Found property — An officer responded on June 29 to the report of found property in the 1600 block of North Newman Drive. A subject had found an abandoned safe in the creek area nearby. The property was seized pending location of the owner. A report was completed for found property.
Criminal mischief — An officer responded on June 29 to the report of a broken window on a vehicle in the 300 block of South Vaden. The passenger window was broken. A report was taken for criminal mischief.
Assault — An officer was dispatched on June 30 to the 900 block of North Ross in response to the report of an assault. Upon officer arrival, it was determined that two individuals had been involved in an altercation. One individual was arrested and a report was generated for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer was dispatched on July 4 to an automobile accident in the 500 block of North Andrews. His investigation revealed that the male driver, who was the only driver in the accident, was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated/open container and transported to the GCSO jail.
Fraud — Documents, containing identifying information on four different victims, were found in a vacated apartment located in the 1800 block of West Washington. Two suspects have been named. A report was generated for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information, more than five but fewer than 10/elderly.
Assault — Officers were dispatched on July 4 to the complaint of a disturbance in the 800 block of South Throckmorton. They conducted an investigation, and a report for assault causes bodily injury was generated.
Disorderly conduct — An officer spoke with a female on July 4 in the 2700 block of South Travis in reference to a male making an offensive display toward her. An offense report was generated.
Possession — Officers were dispatched on July 4 to the 200 block of East Utah. They made contact with a male suspect found to be in possession of a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. The pipe was tested and found to have residue of methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested for possession of controlled substance penalty group one and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
