Texas Department of Public Safety officials said a Tom Bean man was arrested Monday afternoon, after he allegedly evaded a trooper in his vehicle.
DPS Staff Sgt. Mark Tackett said the 35-year-old man was traveling northbound in a pickup on State Highway 11, when a trooper observed him commit a traffic violation near the intersection with Cedar Road and initiated a traffic stop. Tackett said the man continued on for an unspecified distance, before he stopped his truck and was ordered by the trooper to exit the vehicle. The DPS sergeant said the man then used the vehicle as an obstacle to avoid arrest.
“He failed to yield, but whenever he did eventually pulled over, he exited the vehicle through the driver’s door,” Tackett said.”Then got back in the vehicle, exited through the passenger door, got back in the vehicle again, went out another door and, at that time, he was placed under arrest,”
No injuries were reported. Tackett said in addition to being charged with felony evasion and driving on an invalid license, the man was also arrested on a standing Grayson County motion to revoke his probation for an unrelated, felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
