Burglary of a building — An officer was dispatched on April 21 to the 1000 block of East Martin Lane in reference to a burglary of a habitation. The landlord had entered her tenant’s shed without completing eviction paperwork. A report for burglary of a building was generated. The investigation is ongoing.
Disorderly conduct, discharge firearm — An officer was dispatched on April 21 to the 900 block of Lee Street in reference to shots fired. Witnesses stated that an unknown suspect shot a firearm on or about a public street and then fled the scene. A report for disorderly conduct-discharge firearm was filed.
Credit/debit card abuse — A male victim stated on April 21 that his ex-wife took money from his bank account in the 100 block of Vietnam Veterans Parkway without his permission. He also advised that she had opened credit card accounts in his name. A report was generated for credit card/debit card abuse and fraudulent use of identifying information.
Burglary — Officers were dispatched on April 21 to the 2900 block of North U.S. Highway 75 in reference to a possible burglary. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a locked vehicle had been broken into and some tools had been taken. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.
Assault — An officer responded on April 21 to a female victim in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. She stated that her live-in boyfriend intentionally choked her with his hands during an argument to the point where she could not breath. A report for assault family member-breath/circulation was generated.
Theft — An officer spoke to a male in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department on April 21 who stated a suspect had taken a package from the mailbox at his residence on Timbercreek Road. The package was valued at over $100. A report for theft was filed.
Driving while intoxicated — Officers conducted a traffic stop on April 21 in the 400 block of North Harrison. During the stop, it was learned that the female driver had an invalid license and a warrant from Grayson County. She was arrested for the warrant and for driving with license invalid with previous convictions, suspension with no financial responsibility.
Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop on April 21 in the 100 block of Northcreek Drive. The officer made contact with the driver and could smell the strong odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and a usable amount of marijuana was located. The suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Theft — A victim stated on April 20 that an unknown suspect(s) stole a pair of engine heads from a trailer in the 100 block of South Houston.
Theft — A complainant stated on April 20 that an unknown suspect(s) stole an electronic tablet from a room in the 100 block of North Imperial while it was charging.
Burglary of a habitation — A male victim stated on April 21 that someone entered a rental property of his in the 500 block of West Hanna and took a floor nailer, camera heads and a grinder.
Burglary of a building — Store personnel stated on April 22 that a male suspect took merchandise past the last point of sale at a store in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75, and did not pay for the merchandise. The suspect was arrested for burglary or a building.
Burglary of a vehicle — A male victim stated on April 23 that an unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle in the 1000 block of West Baker and removed a phone charger, headphones and several keys.
Burglary of a vehicle — A female victim stated on April 23 that an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of West Star and took paperwork, a sequin bag with medications and a T-shirt.
Criminal trespass — Officers responded to the report of a disturbance in the 500 block of West Chestnut. A female suspect was arrested for criminal trespass.
Theft — A female victim stated on April 23 that a package meant for her in the 2900 block of West Parnell was delivered to a neighbor’s residence by mistake. The neighbor denied the package was delivered to them. The investigation will continue.
Unlawfully carrying a weapon — Officers responded to the call of a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of West Hull. A male suspect was arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon, possession of marijuana less than four ounces, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Burglary of a building — A complainant stated on April 24 that someone stole numerous tools from a construction trailer in the 500 block of West Main. Officers are following up on leads.
Identity theft — A male victim stated on April 26 in the 1000 block of West Coffin that an unknown suspect(s) opened two credit card accounts using his personal information.
Identity theft — A female victim stated on April 26 that an unknown suspect used her social security number to obtain employment.
