The Denison Zoning Board of Adjustments will discuss a special exception request for Main Street Lumber when it meets Monday at 1 p.m. at Denison City Hall. The request relates to the expansion of a non-conforming structure at its facility at 230 E. Main St.
Planning and Zoning Manager Steven Doss said the company plans to replace a non-conforming building, which was previously built on the property line, with a larger structure. The Planning and Zoning Commission previously approved a replat for the site during its meeting on Tuesday. City staff are recommending approval of the item.
Doss noted that the area is zoned industrial and the streets along the facility have been abandoned, so the city has no visibility concerns. Additionally, the company already has several buildings along the property line with little space to move the building away from the line.
