Denison Police have opened an investigation after two teenagers say someone pointed a shotgun at them earlier this week.

Lt. Mike Eppler said the incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday in the 500 block of North Brown Avenue. Eppler said a 14-year-old and 15-year-old told officers they were walking along the street when two people in a pickup pulled up alongside them and honked the vehicle’s horn.

“They looked over and the passenger had a shotgun pointed at them,” Eppler said. “They ran off.”

The Denison Police lieutenant said no shots were fired and the boys were not injured. Eppler said the teens were not able to provide a detailed description of the two people inside the vehicle because they immediately sought cover. No vehicle description was included in the department’s report of the incident.

Eppler said the department would continue its investigation.

“It’s very serious when you have something like this,” Eppler said. “We’re certainly going to follow up on the information they gave us, but we’re asking anyone with additional information to please contact us.”

Those with knowledge of the incident or the suspects’ identities are encouraged to call the Denison Police Department at 903-465-2422.
