The Denison Police Department has released new details on the fatal stabbing of a man at a home on West Walker Street last weekend.
In an emailed statement released Friday, the department said the Jan. 28 incident began as a domestic disturbance between the female resident of the home and her boyfriend, Lucio Alejandro Tello, 37, of Arlington. Officers responded to the home in the 400 block of West Walker Street shortly after midnight.
“The boyfriend allegedly became physical with her and during the altercation, Tello was fatally injured,” the statement read.
The woman was not arrested and has not been charged with any offense. Citing the ongoing investigation, Lt. Mike Eppler said the department had not determined whether the stabbing was an act of defense.
“We're going to present all of the information we've gathered during the investigation to the (Grayson County) District Attorney's Office and they will make the determination on what it's going to be from there,” Eppler said.
