Public intoxication — Dispatch received a call on Nov. 1 in reference to a physical fight in the 4800 block of Texoma Parkway. Upon arrival, officers spoke with all involved persons. A male suspect was inside the business and highly intoxicated. He began slapping another male repeatedly on the back. The victim walked outside and the suspect followed him. The suspect tried again to slap the victim, at which time, the victim used reasonable force to prevent the assault. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.
Burglary of building — Officers were dispatched on Oct. 31 to a business in the 600 block of East Houston Street in reference to a burglary. They arrived and spoke to the caller who stated that the fence to the back of his business had been cut, and two electric scooters were taken. A report for burglary of a building was taken.
Harassment — An officer responded on Oct. 31 to a female complainant in the 1800 block of Crescent Drive in reference to suspicious activity. She reported finding threatening, handwritten notes on her car and front porch. A report for harassment was completed.
Theft of property — The public safety administrator made contact on Oct. 31 with a female business owner in the 2000 Block of East Lamar Street. She stated that a male employee stole from the business. A report was generated for theft.
Found property — Officers were dispatched on Oct. 31 to the 100 block of East Wall Street in reference to an abandoned firearm. Upon arrival, they seized the firearm and filed a report for abandoned property.
Driving while license suspended — On Oct. 31, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of North Grand Avenue. It was determined that the driver did not have a valid drivers license and had received three prior convictions for driving while license invalid. A report for driving while license invalid with previous convictions and suspensions without financial responsibility was generated and filed with the District Attorneys office.
Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop on Oct. 31 in the 1600 block of East Richards Street. The vehicle was stopped because the passenger side headlight was out. When the male driver exited the vehicle the officer detected the distinct odor of marijuana. A probable cause search was conducted which revealed a small bag of marijuana, THC wax and drug paraphernalia. The suspect also had local warrants that were confirmed. He was placed under arrest, and a report was generated for possession of a controlled substance greater than one gram but less than four grams and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Criminal trespass — Officers were dispatched on Oct. 31 to the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 in reference to a criminal trespass call. The male suspect had received a previous warning for trespassing on a property and was arrested when he returned to the property. A report for criminal trespass was generated.
Assault causing bodily injury — An officer was dispatched on Nov. 1 to a residence in the 700 block of East Jones Street in reference to a disturbance. The male victim claimed another male slapped his face during an argument and caused him pain. A report for assault causing bodily injury was generated.
Assault causing bodily injury, family member — An officer responded on Nov. 1 to a female complainant in the 1000 block of South Travis Street. She stated that she was assaulted by her daughter. A report for assault causing bodily injury to a family member was generated.
Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on Nov. 1 to a business in the 4700 block of U.S. Highway 75 South. It was reported that an intoxicated person was attempting to leave in a vehicle. Officers arrived and located the male suspect who was intoxicated in a public place and endangering himself or others. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.
Evading arrest — An officer responded on Nov. 1 to the report of a suspicious female in the 700 block South Dewey Avenue. Upon his arrival, the suspect fled on foot. Running west on Cherry Street, she was apprehended by the officer and arrested for use of sidewalk and for evading arrest/detention.
Forgery financial instrument/elderly — An officer was dispatched on Nov. 1 to the 300 block of South Travis Street in reference to a report of forgery. Upon investigation, it was determined that a known suspect fraudulently obtained checks and cashed them without the owner’s permission. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.
Driving while license suspended — Officers initiated a traffic stop on Nov. 1 in the 400 block of West Houston Street. The vehicle was found to be uninsured and the driver had a suspended license. The driver was arrested and a report was generated for driving while license invalid with no insurance.
