More than a week after Denison Police discovered the body of a man inside a family business, the department said it still has no firm suspects and has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Lt. Mike Eppler said at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Halloween, officers responded to a call of shots fired at Allen Plumbing along Eisenhower Parkway. When officers arrived, Eppler said they found Robert Allen, 55, dead. Eppler identified Allen as an employee of the business but said he could not discuss the cause of death due to the ongoing investigation.

“The ruling from the (Dallas County) Medical Examiner was that this was a homicide,” Eppler said. “We’re still investigating, still looking for information and we’re hoping somebody will come forward with it.”

Eppler also said he couldn’t provide details on the crime scene or say whether any other employees were inside the business at the time of the killing. The Denison Police lieutenant did, however, say that the 9-1-1 call received by dispatchers came from one of Allen’s relatives and that it was not uncommon for Allen to be at the business after hours.

“Investigations are a process, and it all hinges on the information you can get and the evidence you find,” Eppler said. “We’re really needing more information and that’s why we’re asking people to please come forward. We’ll look at any and every possibility.”

Those with information regarding the case are asked to call the Denison Police Department at 903-465-2422.
