The driver of a cement truck escaped injury Tuesday morning after rolling vehicle on U.S. Highway 82.

Texas Department of Public Safety Staff Sgt. Mark Tackett said Joseph Hernandez, 31, was traveling east along the service road of Highway 82 shortly after 7 a.m., when he lost control of his truck near FM 901.

“Mr. Hernandez was traveling at an unsafe speed to negotiate the entrance ramp,” Tackett said in an emailed statement. “Mr. Hernandez overcorrected causing the truck to overturn.”

No other vehicles were involved in the rollover. It was unclear whether the truck was carrying cement at the time of the wreck.
