Sherman Police are searching for a driver of a hit and run who caused damage to a local gas station.

Sgt. D.M. Hampton of the Sherman Police Department said at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sherman Police received a call about a hit and run.

“We received a call about a driver of a vehicle who hit a van, then ran into the support beam over the fuel island,” he said.

Hampton said there was significant damage to the support beam, causing it to slope. The driver fled before the police arrived.

“This an ongoing investigation,” Hampton said.
