The driver of a semitrailer was cited after his vehicle struck a Grayson County constable’s patrol car Tuesday morning.

The minor wreck with no injuries occurred at about 11:20 a.m. on Texoma Parkway. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the wreck and investigated.

DPS Staff Sgt. Mark Tackett said the constable was waiting to make a left turn from Texoma Parkway onto Fallon Drive. A semitrailer was behind the constable’s county vehicle, and Tackett said the driver did not want to wait, so he drove around the constable to turn onto Fallon Drive. The constable was identified as Michael Putman of precinct 2.

“When he did, as he was pulling out, the left-rear tire of the trailer struck the right-rear bumper of the constable’s patrol car,” Tackett said.

The 31-year-old driver from Lewisville was cited for turning when unsafe.
