Denison Police


Theft — It was reported on May 20 that a female was observed using the self-checkout system at a store located in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 75, and paying for only some of the items. The suspect was detained, and when notified that the police had been contacted, she left the store. A case will be filed with the Grayson County district attorney’s office.


Theft — A victim stated on May 20, in the 2200 block of South Woodlawn Street, that an unknown suspect stole his 2001 Ford Mustang convertable from his previous residence.


Public intoxication — Officers responded on May 20 to the report of an unresponsive man on the ground. The man was arrested for public intoxication.


Theft — A male stated on May 21 that his vehicle was taken without his permission from the 2900 block of West Elm Street by two people whom he knows. An investigation is ongoing.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded on May 22 to a collision in the 400 block of South Crockett. A male was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Forgery — A complainant stated on May 22 that a customer entered a store in the 5000 block of Texoma Parkway and cashed a check. The check was returned by the bank as being altered/fictitioius. The investigation will continue.


Theft — A complainant stated on May 22 that a 10 foot U-Haul truck was taken from his business in the 2800 block of West Morton Street. Police are following up on leads.


Assault — A female stated on May 22, in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75, that she received threats over the telephone from her ex-husband. The case has been referred to municipal court.


Harassment — A female stated on May 22, in the 100 block of North 8th Street, that she had received text messages from her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend, even after the girlfriend had been told to stop. An investigation is ongoing.


Suspicious vehicle — Officers responded on May 22 to a suspicious vehicle call in the 900 block of South Austin Street and arrested a male for public intoxication.


Assault — A victim reported on May 23 being struck with a baseball bat by a male in the 100 block of Hickory Street while attempting to get his cell phone back. A report will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.


Theft — Store personnel stated on May 23 that a female entered the store, concealed merchandise in her purse, and then left without paying for the merchandise. An investigation is ongoing.


Sherman Police


Unnecessary noise — Officers responded on May 23 to a civil issue in a mobile home park between a husband and wife for the fifth time that day. The husband locked his wife out of their home. After making numerous attempts to break a window so she could enter the residence, the wife finally succeeded, which woke the next door neighbor. She was arrested for loud, disturbing and unneccessary noise.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on May 24 to the 1500 block of South Travis Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that a boyfriend and girlfriend had gotten into an argument, with the girlfriend assaulting her boyfriend. She was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Driving while intoxicated — A traffic stop was conducted on May 24 in the 3200 block of Texoma Parkway and the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
