Sherman Police


Assault — An officer spoke with a female on Jan. 20 in the 2600 block of Cornerstone Drive in reference to an assault. The woman stated her boyfriend burned her while she was asleep. The injury was minor. A report was generated for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Attempted burglary — Sherman Police Department dispatched an officer on Jan. 20 to the 800 block of West Houston Street in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival, it was found that during the overnight hours, unknown people attempted to force entry into a residence. Entry was not made, however there was damage to the door where entry was attempted. A report was made for criminal attempted burglary and the investigation is ongoing.


Criminal trespass — Officers were dispatched on Jan. 20 to the 300 block of South Throckmorton Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers arrived and found the suspect in the residence arguing over child custody. The suspect was asked numerous times to leave, but would not. She was arrested for criminal trespass and taken to the Grayson County Jail.


Theft — An officer made telephone contact with a male complainant on Jan. 20 in reference to a theft. While inside a business located in the 100 block of East Taylor Street, the complainant mistakenly dropped his wallet. Security surveillance indicated a female suspect picked up the wallet, and deprived the owner of his property. A report for theft was generated.


Criminal mischief — An officer made telephone contact on Jan. 20 with a male reporting party in reference to criminal mischief. A suspect used black spray paint to damage a vehicle and the office building located in the 1400 block of South Sam Rayburn Freeway. According to the reporting party, the suspect drew what appears to be a monkey on the driver’s side of a 2006 white Ford van and some type of plant on the east side office rear door of the business. The estimated total repair cost for the damage is approximately $3,700. A report for criminal mischief was generated.


Criminal mischief — Sherman Police responded to the 500 block of Scott Circle on Jan. 20 in reference to criminal mischief to a vehicle. The victim advised someone had fired a pellet gun at the windshield of her vehicle. A report for criminal mischief $100 to $750 was generated.


Theft — A victim reported on Jan. 20 that a suspect took her property, and will not return it to her. The theft occurred in the 500 block of North Highland Avenue. A report was made for theft of property $750 to $2,500.


Credit or debit card abuse — An officer made contact with a female complainant on Jan. 20 in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department in reference to credit or debit card abuse. A suspect obtained the complainant’s debit card number, then used the card number at two locations in the Dallas area. A report for credit or debit card abuse was generated.


Assault — Sherman dispatch received a call on Jan. 20 from a female stating that she had been assaulted in the 2200 block of East Alma Avenue. An officer arrived on scene, and spoke with the caller and suspect. A report was generated for assault by contact to a family member.


Assault — Sherman Police dispatch received a call on Jan. 20 from the 2200 block of South Crockett Street in reference to a disturbance. An officer was dispatched to the scene. An investigation was conducted and minor apparent injuries were observed. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Driving while license invalid — A traffic stop was made on Jan. 20 in the 2700 block of Texoma Parkway. The driver was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous convictions without financial responsibility and two local warrants.


Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched on Jan. 21 to the 900 block of South Hub Street in reference to criminal mischief. Officers spoke with the victim, who advised a suspect drove by his residence and shot out the back window of his truck with a BB gun. A report for criminal mischief $100 to $750 was generated.


Criminal mischief — A victim reported on Jan. 21 that her vehicle was vandalized. The vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway in the 1400 block of Pheasant Drive. A report was made for criminal mischief less than $100.


Unauthorized use of vehicle — Sherman dispatch received a call on Jan. 21 from a victim in the 300 block of Archer in reference to her car being stolen. The victim stated that she let her friend borrow her car, and now the friend refuses to return the vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant. A report has been generated for the incident.


Theft — An officer spoke with a male on Jan. 21 in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82. The male said someone stole his orange 1974 Volkswagen while he was inside a store. The vehicle was valued at $4,000. A report was generated for theft of property between $2,500 and $30,000.


Denison Police


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on Jan. 19 in the 1600 block of South Austin. A suspect was arrested for outstanding city of Denison and Grayson County warrants. Another suspect was arrested for an outstanding Garfield County, Oklahoma, warrant, possession of dangerous drugs and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
