A man reported his backpack was taken from him after suspects allegedly yelled they were police Monday afternoon.
The 46-year-old victim reported to Denison Police that he was robbed in the 300 block of West Crawford Street at about 2:20 p.m. The complainant told police that he heard a voice shout, “Stop, police; put your hands up,” according to the police report.
A suspect then allegedly pulled the backpack off the victim, and two male suspects fled from the area on bicycles. The report states the backpack contained a blanket, bottles of water and miscellaneous items. Police Lt. Mike Eppler said the suspects were not armed and probably were not adults.
“We’re not for certain yet, but we feel like they’re probably juveniles,” Eppler said.
A report for robbery was filed that day.
