Sherman Police


Assault — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 18 to the 1500 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to an assault. The victim reported that he had been assaulted by his stepson after they had a disagreement. The victim said he was punched and kicked in the face several times. The suspect fled the scene before the officer’s arrival. A report was generated for an assault causing bodily injury to a family member, and the investigation is on going.


Burglary — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 18 to the 1700 block of East Chaffin Street in regards to a vehicle burglary. An investigation was conducted, and the crime scene was processed. A purse containing cash and personal information was taken. A report was generated for the burglary of a vehicle.


Criminal mischief — Dispatch received a call on Jan. 18 about a vehicle in the 400 block of North Lee Street with the back window broken out. The officer spoke with a roommate, but were unable to determine if anything had been taken from the car. A report for criminal mischief $100 to $500 was generated.


Denison Police


Domestic disturbance — Officers responded to a disturbance call on Jan. 13 in the 300 block of West Morton. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Assault — A victim in the 1800 block of South Fannin stated on Jan. 13 that he was assaulted by his wife, who broke a plate and hit him on the left side of the neck, while she was holding some keys. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/ family violence.


Public intoxication — Officers responded to a call on Jan. 13 of an intoxicated person in the 2400 block of Eisenhower Parkway. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Public intoxication — Officers responded to a suspicious person call on Jan. 13 in the 1800 block of North State Highway 91, and arrested the suspect for public intoxication.


Theft — A male came into a local business in the 2400 block of West Morton, and said he needed gas for a vehicle. The man removed a license plate from the complainant’s vehicle and placed it on his vehicle. He was arrested for theft less than $100 on Jan. 14.


Counterfeit currency — A male and a female purchased food at a local drive-in restaurant in the 2400 block of South Austin with a counterfeit $100 bill and then left the area on Jan. 14.


Assault — The complainant and his ex-girlfriend in the 1600 block of Lyndana Drive got into a verbal argument that turned physical with each assaulting the other. They were both referred to Municipal Court on Jan. 14 to file charges.


Assault — Officers responded to a disturbance call on Jan. 14 in the 1300 block of South Austin. They were advised by the complainant that she had been assaulted by the father of her child during an argument over a broken window in their car. The case has been referred to Municipal Court.


Burglary — Victim stated on Jan. 15 that an unknown suspect entered her vehicle in the 800 block of West Woodard and took cash and a cellphone.


Disturbance — Officers responded to a disturbance call on Jan. 15 in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 75 South and arrested a suspect for public intoxication.


Stolen vehicle — A victim stated on Jan. 15 that she started her vehicle, then went back inside her residence in the 800 block of West Shepherd for about 45-60 minutes. When she went back outside, the vehicle was missing. The vehicle was recovered around 10 p.m., near the intersection of Main Street and Crockett Avenue. Two suspects were arrested for theft over $750.


Unauthorized use of a vehicle — A complainant in the 1200 block of Carla Drive stated on Jan. 16 that her son took her vehicle without permission. About four hours later, the vehicle was located in the 3200 block of Eisenhower Parkway. The suspect was arrested for unauthorized use of a vehicle.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on Jan. 16. The driver was arrested for driving while her license was invalid — enhanced, and for two outstanding city of Denison warrants.


Theft — A complainant stated on Jan. 16 that a male and a female entered a store in the 300 block of South Armstrong. The complainant also stated that the male was distracting her while the female was concealing items, and left the store without paying for them. The suspects entered a white older model Chevrolet or GMC truck, and left the area. The investigation will continue.


Theft — A complainant stated on Jan. 16 that she is missing several items of jewelry from her home in the 600 block of South Scullin. Police will be following up on leads.


Burglary — A complainant stated on Jan. 16 that a PlayStation 4 controller and game, headphones, an Xbox 360 and two controllers were taken from her residence in the 1500 block of West Main. Police will be following up on leads.


Fraud — A complainant stated on Jan. 16 that someone accessed his bank account, and made fraudulent transactions at an ATM in the Metroplex area. There are no suspects.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 16 for a traffic violation in the 900 block of West Crawford. The driver was arrested for driving while license was invalid.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 16 for a traffic violation in the 1800 block of South Mirik. The driver was arrested for driving while license was invalid.


Assault — A victim stated on Jan. 17 that he and his girlfriend were arguing over the installation of a door frame, and she struck him, causing an injury to his lip. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury — family violence.


Burglary — A complainant stated on Jan. 17 that a suspect entered his residence through a window and removed some jewelry, a purse and contents, and two handguns. The debit card was used at an Oklahoma business. The complainant listed some possible suspects. The investigation will continue.


Theft — A complainant stated on Jan. 17 that several items of jewelry were taken from his residence. He named some possible suspects. The investigation will continue.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 17 in the 700 block of West Day. The driver was arrested for driving while license was invalid — enhanced.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 17 for a traffic violation in the 1200 block of South Rusk. A suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
