Of the 200,000 people expected to attend the presidential inauguration on Friday, more than a dozen will be Denison High School students.
The 18 students, all seniors, left early Thursday morning for Washington, D.C., where they will attend the inauguration ceremonies of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence. The students are traveling with AP history and government teacher David Bullard.
The group is scheduled to tour the White House and attend an inaugural ball on Saturday evening as well. Other stops include the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, three museums and many other major American landmarks.
The students are scheduled to return to Texas on Sunday.
