A Sherman man reported to police that suspects assaulted him and took cash from his residence early Sunday morning.

Sherman Police responded to a robbery call in the 1200 block of East Houston Street. The 32-year-old victim reported to police that sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. two unknown suspects entered his residence and took an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police. During the robbery, the suspects assaulted the man, causing injuries to his face.

Officers arrived on scene and determined the victim was assaulted and robbed, the police report states. Police Sgt. D.M. Hampton said the man’s injuries were minor and did not require medical attention. The two suspects were not believed to be armed, he said.

Hampton noted that there was a delay between when the man reported the crime and when it occurred. A robbery report was filed Sunday, and police are continuing the investigation.
