Sherman Police


Theft — Sherman dispatch received a call on Jan. 15 regarding a theft in the 700 block of West Washington Street. During the night time hours on Jan. 14, someone stole the innards of two air conditioning units. The officer completed a report for theft of the materials aluminum, bronze, copper or brass less than $20,000.


Forgery — Sherman Police officers were dispatched on Jan. 13 to the 1600 block of East Lamar Street in reference to a forgery. Upon investigation, it was determined counterfeit money had been passed. The case is under investigation.


Theft — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 13 to the 400 block of U.S. Highway 82 East in reference to a theft. Asset protection had detained the suspect for shoplifting. It was found that she had two or more previous convictions of theft. She was arrested and booked into the Grayson County Jail for theft of property less than $2,500 with two previous convictions.


Possession of marijuana — Sherman Police stopped a vehicle on Jan. 14 for no insurance in the 200 block of North Sam Rayburn Freeway. Upon further investigation, it was found that a suspect was in possession of marijuana. She was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces and transported to the Grayson County Jail.


Theft — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 14 to a bicycle theft in the 1400 block of South Rusk Street. A male reported an unknown subject stole his bicycle from the side of his residence. A report was generated for theft. The case is under investigation.


Assault — Sherman officers were dispatched on Jan. 14 to the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to a harassment report. Officers arrived on scene and determined a simple assault had occurred with no injuries and the suspect had fled. This case is under investigation.


Criminal mischief — Sherman officers were dispatched on Jan. 14 to the 500 block of South Maxey in reference to a criminal mischief report. Officers arrived on scene and upon investigation, determined damage was done to the windows of a parked vehicle. This case is under investigation.


Assault — Sherman dispatch received a call on Jan. 15 from a female located in the 500 block of South Charles Street in reference to the windows of her residence being damaged. Officers arrived on scene, and conducted an investigation. During the investigation, officers discovered an assault had also occurred. Reports for assault causing bodily injury and criminal mischief were taken.


Theft — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 15 to the 1200 block of West Taylor Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person stole her vehicle during the night. A report for theft of property between $2,500 and $30,000 was completed.


Theft — Sherman officers were dispatched on Jan. 15 to the 300 block of South Travis in reference to a theft. Upon investigation, it was determined a theft occurred in the 1700 block of North Alexander Street. This case is under investigation.


Robbery — Sherman officers were dispatched on Jan. 15 to the 1200 block of East Houston Street in reference to a robbery. Officers arrived on scene, and determined that the victim was assaulted and robbed. The victim sustained minor injuries. The case is under investigation.


Burglary — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 15 to a burglary in the 2000 block of South Travis Street. An unknown suspect entered a residence and stole property. A report was generated for burglary of habitation. The case is under investigation.


Death investigation — Sherman dispatch received a call on Jan. 15 in reference to a unattended death in the 1800 block of West Crescent Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they witnessed a elderly man who appeared to have passed due to natural causes. Home Hospice was contacted to pronounce the death.


Assault — Sherman dispatch received a call on Jan. 15 from a female located at Texoma Medical Center in reference to an assault that occurred. Officers were dispatched to the location and conducted an investigation. Officers discovered that the male victim had been assaulted in the 1500 block of East Chaffin. A report was taken for assault causing a bodily injury.


Driving while license invalid — Sherman Police initiated a traffic stop on Jan. 16 for defective equipment in the 400 block of North Sam Rayburn Freeway. Upon further investigation, it was found that the driver had a suspended driver’s license and four previous convictions for driving while license invalid. He was arrested and a report was generated.
