Sherman Police

Found property — An officer observed a male riding a bike with no lights on Jan. 13 in the 1000 block of South Walnut Street. The officer began to approach the subject. He abandoned his bike, and ran away. A found property report was initiated.

Theft — Officers were dispatched on Jan. 11 to the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 in reference to a theft. Loss prevention officers stated two males and a female had stolen over $100 worth of merchandise from the store. One of the suspects stated she acted alone. She was arrested for theft property $100 to $750. Another suspect had a criminal trespass warning. He was arrested for criminal trespass. Both suspects were taken to the Grayson County Sheriff's Office and booked in for the above charges.

Burglary — Sherman Police Department dispatched an officer on Jan. 11 to the 800 block of South Charles Street in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, it was found that sometime in the evening hours of Jan. 10, unknown actors entered a residence without consent, and stole property. A report was made and the investigation is ongoing.

Criminal mischief — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 11 to the 800 block of East Wells in regards to a possible burglary. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the victim and found that the suspect damaged the front door but did not make entry into the residence. A criminal mischief under $100 report was generated.

Burglary — An officer made telephone contact on Jan. 12 with a male victim in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. Sometime on Jan. 11 or Jan. 12, a suspect gained entry into his vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, the suspect removed a 9 mm firearm from the center console of the vehicle. The vehicle was locked and parked in the driveway of the complainant's residence in the 600 block of East Centennial when the incident occurred. Reports for the burglary of a vehicle and theft of a firearm were generated.

Theft — An officer made telephone contact on Jan. 12 with a male reporting party in reference to a theft. On Jan. 11, a suspect removed a drain cleaning machine from the parking lot of a local convenience store, located in the 200 block of South Sam Rayburn Freeway. According to the reporting party, the drain cleaning machine had been mistakenly left in the parking lot after completing a job. When the reporting party realized the machine was no longer in his possession, he returned to the parking lot only to discover that the machine was no longer where it had been left. A report for theft was generated.

Burglary — Victims reported on Jan. 12 that someone entered their residence in the 3700 block of North Loy Lake Road and stole money and credit cards. The credit cards were used without their permission. A report was made for burglary of habitation and credit or debit card abuse.

Fraudulent use or possession of identifying information — Sherman Police responded on Jan. 12 to the 300 block of South Travis Street in reference to a forgery. The victim explained someone had used his information to purchase a vehicle without his knowledge or consent. A report for forgery of a financial instrument was generated. This investigation is ongoing.

Assault — Sherman Police Dispatch received a call on Jan. 12 from the 3000 block of Northridge Drive in reference to a disturbance. An officer was dispatched to the scene. An investigation was conducted, and a minor injury assault was reported.

Possession of marijuana — Sherman Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on Jan. 12 in the 1400 block of North Travis Street. The driver of the vehicle was found to have marijuana in his possession. He was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, and transported to Grayson County Jail.

Denison Police

Suspicious person — Officers responded to a suspicious person call on Jan. 11 in the 600 block of West Morton. The suspect was located and arrested for possession of controlled substance.

Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on Jan. 11 in the 1900 block of South Mirik. A suspect was arrested for driving while license invalid/enhanced.

Public intoxication — Officers responded on Jan. 11 to a suspected intoxicated person call in the 200 block of West Crawford. Suspects were arrested for public intoxication.

Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 11 for a traffic violation in the 300 block of North Armstrong. Suspect was arrested for an outstanding Grayson County warrant and failure to identify/fugitive from justice.

Criminal mischief — A complainant in the 600 block of North Derby stated on Jan. 11 that four tires on his vehicle were punctured and flat. He named a possible suspect. The investigation will continue.

Suspicious vehicle — Officers responded to a call on Jan. 11 of a suspicious vehicle at a vacant resident in the 1100 block of South Fairbanks. The vehicle was located, and the suspect was arrested for an outstanding City of Denison warrant and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Public intoxication — Officers responded on Jan. 12 to a hospital for a call of an intoxicated person. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.

Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped in the 100 block of West Texas Street for a traffic violation on Jan. 12. The suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped in the 400 block of West Gandy for a traffic violation on Jan. 12. A suspect was arrested for no operator's license. Another suspect was arrested for an outstanding City of Denison warrant.

Theft — Store personnel in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75 stated on Jan. 12 that a suspect removed merchandise from a store shelf and returned the items for cash and a gift card. The suspect then purchased other merchandise with the money from the return. The suspect was arrested for theft over $100.
