Suspects fled on foot from Denison Police after the men were allegedly caught in the process of burglarizing a house Tuesday night. One man was arrested as the second suspect evaded captured.
At about 11:32 p.m., Denison officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of East Crawford Street. Police received a call reporting two men burglarizing the residence, according to the police report. As the officers responded, the two suspects ran into a nearby wooded area.
Police chased the suspects and apprehended one man. The second suspect evaded capture that night. Police Lt. Mike Eppler said the foot pursuit was short, but the second suspect got away. He said the suspects did remove property from the residence, but dropped the items when police arrived.
JohnDavid Burling, of Denison, was arrested for burglary of a habitation and evading arrest detention. The investigation is ongoing.
