Sherman Police


Theft — A reporting party on Jan. 9 advised unknown suspect removed parts of construction equipment from a construction site in the alley behind the 600 block of South Gribble Street. A report for theft property $100 to $750 was completed.


Harassment — An officer made contact with a female complainant on Jan. 9 in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department in reference to harassment. In speaking with the complainant, the officer learned that a male suspect known to the complainant, had been calling her and sending her text messages after being asked repeatedly to stop contacting her. Because the suspect would not stop contacting the complainant after being asked to stop communicating with her, a report for harassment was generated.


Assault — An officer spoke to a male on Jan. 9 in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department. The male claimed he was assaulted by his brother in November of 2016. A report was generated for the assault.


Fraud — Sherman Police Dispatch spoke with a female on Jan. 9 wishing to report a fraud. Upon the officer’s arrival the caller advised, someone opened a loan in her name. A report was generated for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information.


Injury to child/elderly/disabled — An officer spoke to a female on Jan. 9 in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department. The female claimed she was assaulted by her son in November of 2016. A report was generated for the assault.


Theft — An officer responded to a business in the 1700 block of North Heritage Parkway and took a report for theft prop $2,500 to $30,000 for an employee theft that occurred over several months.


Burglary — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 9 to the 1100 block of North Branch Street in reference to a residential burglary. The victim reported that an unknown person broke in the home and stole various household goods, two laptops, a video game console, and child care supplies. A report for burglary of habitation was generated.


Theft — Sherman Police Department received a call on Jan. 9 in reference to a theft in the 400 block of E U.S. Highway 82. When police arrived it was found suspects attempted to leave the store without paying for several items. Both were arrested for theft prop $100 to $750, and an offense report was generated.


Denison Police


Theft — Complainant on 2000 block of South Austin stated on Jan. 6 that an unknown suspect entered several trailers and stole electric hand tools, ladders and other property.


Assault — Officers responded to a call on Jan. 6 of a male and female fighting in the 1800 block of North State Highway 91. A suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence and outstanding city of Denison warrants. Another suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence/impeding breath.


Stolen vehicle — Victim stated on Jan. 7 he left his vehicle unlocked and the keys in the ignition and the vehicle was stolen from the 3800 block of Texoma Parkway. The vehicle was later returned. The suspect has been identified and a case will be sent to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office. This person is also the suspect in a stolen vehicle case from the same location on Jan. 5. That vehicle was recovered at Grayson College. No arrests have been made in either case.


Assault — Victim stated on Jan. 7 she was assaulted by her estranged husband by him punching her in the face. The case has been forwarded to Municipal Court.


Suspicious vehicle — Officers observed a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a local convenience store on Jan. 7, and a male was outside the vehicle. It appeared the male was involved in some type of argument with a female. Suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Jan. 8 for a traffic violation on the 2300 block of West Morton. Suspect was arrested for an outstanding Grayson County warrant, an outstanding parole violation warrant, an outstanding city of Denison warrant and failure to identify/fugitive from justice. Another suspect was arrested for outstanding Rockwall County warrants, possession of controlled substance and tampering with evidence.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on the 300 block of West Crawford for a traffic violation on Jan. 8. Suspect was arrested for an outstanding Grayson County warrant and possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces.


Driving while intoxicated — A vehicle was stopped on the 1100 block of South Austin Street for a traffic violation on Jan. 8. Suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Suspicious vehicle — A vehicle was parked in the parking lot of a closed business on the 1900 block of South Armstrong on Jan. 8. Suspect was arrested for possession of controlled substance.


Arrest — A vehicle was parked facing traffic and on the sidewalk on the 100 block of West Monterey, and a male was inside the vehicle. Suspect was arrested on Jan. 9 for possession of drug paraphernalia.


Stolen vehicle — Victim stated his white 2000 Dodge Durango with Texas license plate GRV-0437 was taken from in front of his residence on the 100 block of West Texas on Jan. 9. He named a possible suspect.


Credit/debit card abuse — Victim on the 2300 block of Brookhaven Drive stated on Jan. 9 an unknown suspect fraudulently used her credit card to obtain cash and tried unsuccessfully to use the card a second time. Another card was obtained and the suspect attempted to obtain money on this one, but was unsuccessful.
