Theft — While officers were speaking with a person of interest in connection with a theft on Jan. 2, a key fob was located in the person’s possession. An investigation determined the key fob had been stolen in a vehicle burglary on Christmas Eve. An offense report was generated for theft, and the case will be filed for prosecution.
Theft — Sherman officers responded to the 400 block of East Hwy 82 on Jan. 3 in reference to a theft. The suspect fled on foot but was identified. A report was generated for theft of property less than $100 and evading arrest.
Assault — An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of South Loving Avenue on Jan. 6 in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with both parties who both claimed assault against the other. Both parties had visible injuries. An assault causing bodily injury to a family member report was generated.
Aggravated robbery — Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of West Taylor Street on Jan. 7 in reference to an aggravated robbery. The suspects fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival. The victims stated two males and two females entered the residence and stole several items. One of the males displayed a gun during the incident. A report was generated for aggravated robbery. The investigation is ongoing.
Accident involving damage to vehicle — Sherman Police responded to a hit and run crash on Jan. 7 in the 200 block of South Dewey Street. Evidence was left at the scene that identified the suspect vehicle. Further investigation identified the driver. A license check showed the driver to have a suspended license and previous convictions of driving while license invalid. Two offense reports were completed for accident involving damage to a vehicle greater than $200 and driving while license invalid with prior conviction without financial responsibility. The offense reports will be submitted for prosecution.
Criminal mischief — Sherman Police dispatch received a call on Jan. 7 from the 300 block of West Walcott Street in reference to suspects from an earlier burglary being back at their residence. An officer was dispatched to the scene. An investigation was conducted and a report for criminal mischief between $100 and $750 was generated.
Driving while license invalid — Sherman Police conducted a traffic stop on Jan. 7 in the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway. The driver of the vehicle was informed he was operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway at night without headlights. The driver was found to have a suspended license with prior convictions of driving while license invalid. A report for driving while license invalid with prior conviction without financial responsibility was taken and the driver was filed on.
Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched on Jan. 7 to the 3300 block of North U.S. Highway 75 in reference to criminal mischief. The victim stated she went inside of the store and when she returned to her vehicle, observed one of her vehicle windows had been broken out. The victim stated the damage costs approximately $300. A report was generated for criminal mischief $100 to $750. The investigation is ongoing.
Burglary of habitation — Sherman Police dispatch received a call on Jan. 8 from the 300 block of West Cherry Street in reference to a burglary. An officer was dispatched to the scene. An investigation was conducted and a burglary of habitation report was generated.
