A vehicle was stolen from outside a Denison house after the resident left it running to warm up Thursday morning.
The 2011 brown Honda Civic was taken from the 3800 block of Texoma Parkway shortly before 9:30 a.m. The vehicle owner told Denison Police she started the vehicle to warm it up, then went back inside her house to grab a few things, according to the police report. When she returned outside, the vehicle was gone.
Denison Police Lt. Mike Eppler said the victim left the car unattended only for a few minutes, but it was long enough for it to be stolen. Eppler said this sort of crime is easily preventable.
“You definitely don’t want to start your car and leave it open for somebody to get in,” Eppler said. “You don’t want to do that.”
