A motorcyclist was pronounced dead Monday following a wreck in the 1200 block of Vietnam Veterans Parkway in Sherman. In a news release issued Tuesday morning, the Sherman Police Department said the wreck took place around 8:33 p.m. Monday.

“It was reported a motorcycle collided with a passenger car,” the release said. “Upon arrival, officers located the driver of the motorcycle, a 20-year-old male, who was deceased.”

The police have notified the decedent’s next of kin.

“Initial information indicated the motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it struck the passenger car, which was turning to proceed westbound,” the release said. “The driver of the passenger car sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Sherman PD’s Critical Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing.”
