Michele Drolet-Dewever passed away 18 April 2022, surrounded by those dear to her. She was a loving mother and Meme, journalist, international Artificial Intelligence publication editor, translator, entrepreneur, physical therapist, avid reader/cross word-solver, genius, and adventurer. She is survived by her daughter Elise, sons Kevin and Greg, brothers Colman and Luke and sisters Mallory, George-Anna, Mary Lou and their families. Michele is preceded in death by her daughter Joy, her parents Robert and Marquetta and her brother Michael.
Michele was born in Kingfisher, OK, the second of seven children. She was a 1963 graduate of Sherman High School. With a thirst for knowledge, a zest for life, and a fearless outlook on the future, she traveled across the US and made lasting connections with all who had the pleasure of meeting her. Michele moved to Belgium and started a family, and then brought the family to the US 15 years later.
A fervent cheerleader and mentor to her children, she brought them up in Austin, TX and immersed them in American culture. Fairly late in life, Michele began a career as a physical therapist/masseuse and had a diverse clientele base that boasted semi-professional athletes, youthful victims, and the elderly, all of which earned her a reputation of being a gifted healer.
After retiring, Michele relished the chance to spend time with her grandchildren, Lukas and Laken, beamed with pride at the accomplishments of her children and their families, loved hearing their adventures, and looked forward to each week of the NFL season.
There will be a graveside service in July at St Mary’s in Sherman, TX. In lieu of flowers, please donate to any of her favorite charities: St Jude’s Children Hospital, the Spina Bifida Association, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
