Melvin Ray Sims, 68 years old, of Wylie, passed away Saturday, May 28, in Plano.

He was born February 25, 1954 in Collin County, Texas, the son of Melvin Lewis and Reba Irene (Scott) Sims.

Melvin was a very talented woodwork and spent many hours working with his hands. Preceding him in death is his wife, Diane MacNeil Sims, parents, Melvin L. and Reba I. Sims, sister, Lavenia Allison.

He is survived by his daughter Misti Ross and husband, Ronnie, son, Jeremy Sims, 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 2 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are brothers, Ricky, Keith and Jeff, sisters, Kathy, Paulette, Annette and Deniese, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
