May elections right around the corner

The last day to register to vote for the May 4 joint election has come and gone. But, there is still time for those seeking to vote in the May 28 runoff. The last day to register for that election is May 16.

The last day to register for the May 4 election was April 4. Ballot by mail applications must be received no later than April 23.

This election will include city elections for Pottsboro, Tioga, Southmayd, Whitesboro, Whitewright, Denison, Howe, Collinsville, Bells, Van Alstyne and Tom Bean. There will be school board elections for Pottsboro ISD, Tioga ISD, S&S CISD, Whitesboro ISD, Whitewright ISD, Sherman ISD and Gunter ISD. Grayson County Junior College District and Lake Texoma Municipal Utility District no. 1 will also have elections.

Early voting for the May 4 election begins on April 22 and will run through April 30. For the first week, polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and the second week, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 29-30.

Polls will be open on election day May 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Collinsville Community Center, 117 N. Main, Collinsville;

Grayson County sub courthouse, 101 W. Woodard, Denison;

Grayson College Main Campus, 6101 Grayson Dr., Denison;

Gunter Baptist Church, 99 Gentle Creek Ln, Gunter;

Howe Municipal Courtroom, 700 W. Haning, Howe;

St. John the Apostle Episcopal Church, 760 W. FM 120, Pottsboro;

Grayson County Election Administration, 115 W. Houston, Sherman;

Sherman ISD Service Center, 2701 Loy Lake Road, Sherman;

Southmayd City Hall, 4525 Elementary Dr., Southmayd;

Tioga Fire Department, 601 Main, Tioga;

First National Bank in Tom Bean, 109 S. Britton, Tom Bean;

Grayson College South Campus, 1455 W. Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne;

Whitesboro City Hall, 111 W. Main, Whitesboro;

Whitewright City Hall, 206 W. Grand, Whitewright.

The locations listed above as well as Parkside Baptist Church, 301 N. Lillis, Denison and Sadler Baptist Church, 419 S. Main Sadler will be open on election day.

Grayson County registered voters can cast a ballot at any Grayson County polling site.
