1951-2023

Mary Ann Hamilton, age 71, of Denison, TX lost her long battle with cancer on February 12th, 2023. Mary was born on July 28th, 1951, to A.C. and Emogene Covington in McKinney, TX. Mary was retired and enjoyed her family and taking care of her animals. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Brian Hamilton of Little Elm, TX and Shawn Hamilton of Sherman, TX, her daughter, Melanie Rhoades of Sherman, TX, her sister, Debbie Covington of Arlington, TX, nine grandchildren: Alexis Greenwood (and her husband Zach), Patience Rhoades, Dakkota Foster, Kailey Hamilton, Kaycie Hamilton, Kinzee Hamilton, Riley Hamilton, Collin Hamilton, and Kambrie Hamilton, and one great-grandchild, Gia Rhoades, and one nephew, Harry Rundel of Arlington, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.C. and Emogene Covington, and her brothers Mike Covington, and Pat Covington. No services are planned, but the family would like to thank the staff at Texas Oncology, and the wonderful doctors and nurses at Texoma Medical Center who cared for and loved Mary throughout her illness. “Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower, we will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind”
